A common species like Calcite is not usually world class, but in this case we observe a group of crystals from the August 2004 discovery in Madagascar, formed by an attractive aggregate, in which the sharpness of the crystals, their color and luster, and especially the appearance of extraordinarily unusual twins, formed by the interpenetration of two rhombohedra, are outstanding.

Calcite crystals, one of them clearly dominant and very aerial on the matrix, with a very evident, transparent, lustrous and colorless contact twin. The specimen, from a quarry little known for twinned specimens, comes from the collection of Andrés Jiménez Shelly.
